What browser have you got?
If you've got Firefox, an install plug-in tab should drop down from below the address bar. (i'm inferring you don't alredy have one installed that's not working?) I got a weird IE problem, said i had no java programme on my PC, even though i had and i was enabled etc. Switched to Firefox, which imported IE's settings!, and it worked fine.
