I found a lever that looks like it opens a door with a lifting drawbridge type of door. It is in the dungeon north east of the cistern. Does anyone know what that leads to and does it actually open? I hate finding someplace like that and not being able to get into it.

We might need more particulars....(If my quess is wrong)
Directly NE of the sistern,...(ie..face north and take the right hand fork)...there is a gated portculis..next to it (on the right) is a crate and a doorway into a room...the winglatch, is on the wall, between the crate and a coffin....It opens the 5 cells in that room. (2 with chests and 3 with 'Hopeless Shades') The portculis...is opened from the other side. After fighting your way through a bunch of manbeasts and killing 'Gos 'hin', you come to a room with a chest and 2 winglatches. The one on East wall...opens the portculis....when you click on the one on the North wall...(My personal favorite)...the text reads..."The winglatch isn't working". (I always wonder, what it was supposed to do, in the original game design?) Annnywhoo..if none of the above applies...Give us another clue....

If you are referring to "the winglatch isn't working". Well I have never got it to work & as Packrat says, it was left over from the original game design. You'll find a lot of left over bits & pieces.

Packrat hit the nail on the head! So, it's a no-go as far as being useful. OK, that explains that. Thanks warriors or wizards, as the case may be.
