How did all these animals get along I mean there was rats and snakes in there I am sure the rats and snakes did not get along.

This sounds like the cat lady we had in Edmonton She had alot of cats in here house some where dead and some almost dead. And piles of poo poo every where. What makes people do these sort of things?

I think some of these people have an OCD. It's called hoarding. Here's a site about it: http://www.tufts.edu/vet/cfa/hoarding/

It's really terrible. Some people have hundreds of animals in their house, and they think they're helping them. There was a woman in Slovenia that was for years praised for helping abandoned dogs. But she had over 300 of them in her house, without electricity, without proper shelter for them... Males and females were mixed and they weren't neutered. When some people actually offered her help she apparently caused a lot of problems and even refused some help (with vaccinations, I think). When people finally realised what the situation was like they went to take all the dogs (and a few cats) away, and found that some were in really bad shape... And she received awards for helping animals.
