Chewing gum may remedy that (in the mouth, not the ears)..or yawning really big. It seems to have the same effect as going up or down in a plane or elevator really fast.

Saz, if you're ever tired of working with computers, you should consider a carreer in publicity. You'd be great for kids commercial... you know, the ones where they say that toy planes don't actually fly.

It's caused by softened wax against the eardrum (usually softened by water). It should eventually pass, but you should be able to get some eardrops from a pharmacist to speed the process.

I get it quite frequently, very annoying. Just don't stick anything in your ear - this is tempting but can cause:
a) otitis (inflammation and infection of the outer ear - requires antibiotics)
b) packing the wax more tightly against your eardrum - uncomfortable
c) damage to the eardrum - very painful and potential permanent hearing damage
d) getting something else stuck in your ear - requiring an embarassing trip to your doctor
So resist the temptation to remove the wax physically.

LOL, Ryanamur! Well, that was said pretty much tongue-in-cheek...but one never knows, after all! Heaven forbid that we should have someone sue IW for medical bills related to bubble-gum extrication from the outer ear!
