A property and a car have been destroyed as a major
bushfire bears down on Molong, near Orange in NSW.

Firefighters have asked residents in two streets if they would like to "self relocate" after fire destroyed the disused property and shed on the outskirts of Molong, some 30 kilometres from Orange.

I know Hive and some other IW peeps live near Orange, so I hope you guys are okat

Terrible news. I remember bushfire season back in 2001 or 2002 I think it was - Canberra nearly burned down.

Meanwhile here in Boston, the temperature dipped to below 32 F (0 C) for the first time during the day (as opposed to at night).

Yep, I saw them when I was coming home from work, and I am on standby just in case they need a hand tonight so it could be interesting.

For the most part now though, the fire is under control, but the winds today and tomorrow are horrible so we cant make any predictions.

Took some Pommy relations bushwalking through there a fortnight ago, near Blackheath. Now I will have to send them the news that it has all been destroyed and that those pictures they took of trees stretching into the horizon have gone

Yeah being at the foot of the mountains its been a bit smokey the last few days. I've gone through and cleaned everything up (gutters, gardens, lawn clippings) as as soon as I saw a burnt leaf on my front lawn.

Preparing for a long summer especially as we have bush land behind the estate I live in.

Agree Hivetyrant

Yet a few weeks ago it was snowing in Queensland, we have icebergs of the coast of New Zealand! Is there anybody left not believing in global warming?
