This is my first post, although I've been lurking for about six months. Great board, and answered all of my questions so far.
Anyway, I've completed Skull Castle, and now my party and my boat are sitting in the SW corner of the Enchanted Sea trying to find a way over to the Lost Sea. I've sailed all the way from Talrik's boat to the eastern coast of the Enchanted Isle, and I can't seem to find an opening into the Lost Sea at all. I can't walk over, much less sail the boat. I've already tried the Vanish spell several times, and 2/3 of the time it fails. When it works it kicks me further east into the Enchanted Sea. How do I get over to the Lost Sea? Festus (wanted to use Ragnar, but someone else already got it)

Hello there, Festus, and welcome! I don't get here too often any more, but still love this board and the folks who post and monitor here.
Well, you can't sail to part of the sea - you must walk to the back of one of the island and go into the water and back up on another beach to find the magical creature that will quiz you and decide if you may gain entrance into the tomb he guards. Then after many more trails, you may find your way into the Lost Sea. You can look at the maps on Rick's site if you need to. . . I have to go get the link for you: www.volberding.com [ 03-24-2002, 07:52 PM: Message edited by: mammawlin ]

you must go through the shirne of anephas (where the sphinx is) then you will end up in the Lost Sea.

Welcome to the board, Festus!!!
The easiest way to the Lost Sea is through Anephas' tomb/Temple of Isis, Sphynx out front. There is an elaborate scheme for "tree surfing" or another for using "vanish" to get to the lost sea area, but going through the tomb is really the best option! Good luck! Wyv |

I agree that going through the Shrine is the way the game is supposed to be played... but doing so prevents you from getting one of the mage guild quests, which just makes me ornery in general.
I favor tree-surfing to complete the seed quest, and then going through the shrine normally.
