On this board, and a site someone mentioned with directions to some hidden items, I found out about the Ankheg armour in Nashkel and the Ring of Wizardry in 'Friendly Arm' etc. I went to the EXACT pixel, and nothing! I don't usually use spoilers, but I wanted to use the ring and it was included in the game (apparently). I have the DVD version - did they remove these items from it? Please help - very frustrated.

I know exactly what you are talking about, the ring of wizardry isn't in the friendly arm on my version either. But, with the help of a couple of websites, I found out that they moved some of the items around. The ring of wizardry should be somewhere in Baldur's Gate (the town). As for the ankheg plate mail, I think that you need to have the smithy in Beregost make it for you, you need 10 ankheg skulls.

Thanks, I'm glad to hear I wasn't necessarily doing something wrong! I'll try to find the location of the ring by looking on a few sites. As far as the ankegg armour goes, I did get a set made, but there was apparently also one hidden in a field in Nashkel. I don't really need it, but I went to look for it when I couldn't find the ring to see if my directions were any use. PS: If anyone does have the location of the ring please reply!

Well... I have international v.5512 and I have the Ankheg armour at Nashkell (far west of the map in the vertically ploughed field near a fir tree) as well as the ring at the Friendly Arm Inn. Taerom Fuiruim, the mighty odd smith in my home town, asks for one ankheg carapace to make the armour, but he'll gladly relieve you of any excess you might have.
I have two possible SPOILERS regarding ankhegs and making money on a daily basis. WANT THEM??? |

Yes, my version does seem to be different for some reason. Anyway, I don't really need the money-making spoilers, as I don't seem to have enough things to buy with all the money I've collected at the moment, but I am interested in the ankheg trick - whatever it may be! Actually, what the hell, let us in on both. Please?

No 1: Given that you have NOT YET given Taerom an ankheg shell to make an armour for you:
collect some ankheg, go to Taerom's smithy, drop all ankheg on the floor except one. Talk to him, and agree to SELL the ankheg. Repeat until you have only one shell left. Now ask him to make that armour for you. NOTE: The higher your charisma and reputation, the more on time will the armour be ready for you. No 2: In the city of Baldur's Gate, there is a man called Fenten in a small house that you have to unlock to get in. To reach him, you'll have to go north in the map with the Flaming Fist building, and go to the map directly north of it. In this map, (has the House of the Lady in it), BELOW the old wall, there is one small house. That's where he is. He'll send you to find Gerde in the map with the fishermen's cottages and the tons of ankhegs, and ask you to bring some back to him. As above, SELL THEM ONE AT A TIME. He will always give you money for ankheg shells. |

Ring of wizardry? Check in Southwestern Baldur's Gate (the city)--south of the Flaming Fist HQ. You'll have to check all the houses, and be prepared to fight for it (hint-hint). Good luck!

Yes, I got this one, and it really helped a lot. So I decided to get the one at Friendly Arm to help my other mage - and couldn't find it as I mentioned above. A bit greedy, I suppose!
