i had a 7th level druid and a dire wolf as a summons. the wolf had 65 hit points. at the next level (8 total) i took a ranger class. my summons dropped from 65 to 26 hit points! what's up with that!?! if i had chosen fighter instead of ranger, my dire wolf would still have the 65 hit points. is this a bug or intentional for some bizar reason i cant fathom? talk about ticked off!! any way, does anybody have a theory about this?

I belive that the ranger dire wolf is less powerful than the druid dire wolf. (less levels) Check your animal's level before and after: I bet they aren't the same.

i understand that the ranger's dire wolf is weaker than that of the druid. but as i stated before, if i had taken the fighter class, who has no set to summon, the wolf's hp would have stayed high. it seems unfair that it would drop for one class but not another. guess im just a bit jaded. now im stuck with a char that i dont like as much for a really lame reason. thanks for the insight though.

A bug maybe. I have no real experience with summons though as I rarely use them . Make sure you updated to 1.61
