the original thread used to be here
the previous thread is here: Cloudy's CafeCome in, be welcome, be comfortable, be yourself Welcome to Cloudy's Cafe, a place to have a cup of coffee or a good darjeeling and the finest in conversation and camaraderie. The proprietor asks that you follow a few simple guidelines: this is a real conversation zone, not a role-play zone* no flaming; if you disagree with a viewpoint expressed by any patron, please do so in a civil manner * any topic is fair game, but keep posts to the standards that Ziroc has set for the entire forum, please (ie: foul language is not appropriate and things should be suitable for all audiences) -a side note from Cloudy: I see this as a place for those short conversations about a new baby or the latest soccer fiasco, not for things that are big enough to warrant their own threads, by all means give those things the space they need and post separately! * Please, no one word or smiley posts (Ziroc has declared them 'real spam' and the proprietor doesn't want the reputuation of "good spam" to suffer!) * do feel free to be serious or silly and enjoy the company of others while you are here. By all means POST if you have something to say, even to start another topic , we can handle multiple chats, we're a CAFE!!! But be courteous and don't disrupt a conversation just to disrupt it. Come on in! The bar is stocked with coffees, teas, juices and waters from around the world. And purple napkins, of course! The lighting is low, the golden oak counters and tables glow with inviting warmth. Near the window, the lighting is brighter, as comfy, plush leather armchairs wait for those who'd like to read a book while relaxing to music or just lazily watch the world go by. Brought to you by, Lady Blue Offical Waitress and Entertainment Provider

First post!
EDIT: I actually got it. Well um, Ok, just so as not to seem a spammer: How's everyone doing today? I've finished my before last day of compulsory summer work, and I'll be glad to have it finished. It was boring and because it is needed for the university degree we only get paid 30% of minimum wages. [ 08-26-2004, 01:57 PM: Message edited by: dplax ] |

Greetings everyone. My week is slowly starting to get better. I really enjoyed my Mythology class last night, and our prof even said she'd let us watch Troy, if only to point out all of its inaccuracies . Friday is San Diego's annual Street Scene concert and my most favorite band in the world, AFI, are playing, along with Jimmy Eat World and Social D. Good stuff My mom got me 2 tix for my bday, so Chris and I are going. Can't wait ^^
And Sunday is of course my birthday. The not-very-big 19. Woot Got school today, but on the bright side it's only two classes, and one of them should go relatively fast because my friend who I sat with in science my senior year of high school is in it Have a good day everyone, see ya'll when I get home. Well, I'll tell you happy birthday sunday...EST, of course, but it'll be sunday...
Mythology??? One of my friends (an Indian American) has to take a Greek Mythology class...funny thing is, he's well educated in mythology, but being a fist generation American in his family, most of the mythology he knows is from India...

Dang, The cafe started when I was at class. I will, one day, achieve the elusive first post! Anyways, I remember doinga lot of mythology crap for the academic team. Hey, is Indian Mythology include all the funs stuff, like incest and apocalypses?? Have fun at the concert, Jen, and congrats on the 19th circle around the sun! (Only got 18 under my belt, so that's cool.)

hi all, been a little bit since I came in the cafe. things have been really weird here recently. a neighbor lady passed away on tuesday, and the poor manager of the trailer park found her wednsday they had been friends for 7 years, so that has her broke up. I am glad it happened while the kids were at school though, they are not at the age yet to understand what death is, or what a coranors(sp?) van is but other than that, things seem to be going pretty good, it is hotter than it has been for a while now, and the humidity is very high, making it worse. so how is everyone else?
