Just discovered this for the first time, and a quick search of the forum reveals that I'm *NOT* the first person to find one...

But since I haven't seen it (or noticed it) before, let me just mention that it's a set of lockpicks called Master Lockpicks. Found 'em in Collasseum, and I've only got one. Can't invoke it AFAICT, so it appears to be mostly worthless.

According to others in the Forum, apparently it can pick any lock, no matter what. So maybe it's not so useless after all... this would be the stage of the game where there's one really tough lock left.

Just thought I'd pass it along and see if anyone else had more knowledge on the subject.

Where exactly in Collasseum? I'd love to give those a twirl some day!

I don't remember exactly where. I'm pretty sure it was somewhere in the carousel room area, though.

Finished up in there with a *very* full backpack. And about ten levels, too... Missy is now a 55th level assassin. Kick some tail!

Yes I believe I have found that once and IIRC it did absolutely nothing for me. It didn´t work on a special lock in a special castle (found it on a fast track game in which I *cough* bypassed the shrine). When I found it I raced to that certain castle eager to try it. No luck.

I wonder if it might be invokable by certain classes at certain times? Perhaps something that might give a low-level rogue a boost in Lockpicking...

Master Lockpicks are an artifact so that it must be the chest with the Second Tablet of Cet I've never tried the lockpicks. They are usable by any thief class as any other lockpicks do.
You can find the lockpicks in any artifact chest. Let us enumerate a few ones.
Collasium:
- the chest with the Second Table of Cet.
Other artifact chests are in the Pyramid.
- the chest in the secret alclove near the entrance.
- the chest to the right on your way from the secret alclove to the chest with the fourth tome.
- one of the chests (the middle one?) in the "barracks with "the best Cet's minions" in the red area.
- the chest immediately before the entrance to the Cet's room, where the final battle takes place.
- both chests in the Cet's room.
