hmmm me thinks it was more the Win98 then it was the mobo...I bet if you try Win2000 or XP all the rest of your problems will dissapear.

Win 98 SE (Contemplating Win2000, but worried about software compatability)

I desperately want a DVD RW, but the price is prohibitive right now. The drives are about $400 and the media are about $12 each! :yikes:
For those prices, I'll stick with VCD for my needs! Most DVD players play VCD's, but the picture quality sucks! Makes VHS look high speed!

Voodoo Banshee
Creative 128-PCI (crap Speakers, radio headphones)
Ricoh CD-R(32*8*8)
13.9 Gb HD split between Linux and Win98
Zenith 1440 Monitor (decade old and still a sharper picture than most)
56K modem

And various other peripherals.
