Here's how I spent the first part of my new year - at my apartment with my sister, my parents (visiting from overseas) and a couple of friends watching the fireworks on the Harbour Bridge.

They ARE bad. Very bad!! Mostly caused by arsonists - and mostly done by people aged under 18.

Here in Sydney it's been raining ash and burnt leaves, and there has been a huge blanket of smoke and haze over the city.
Nice photos of the bridge! |

The photos look Good Memnoch!! whoever took those photos did well... it is ofcourse impossible to take photos of the Sydney New Year Fire works and not do them a terrible injustice... but whoever took those took them at the best posisble moments I think, and did the fireworks the least possible injustcie that any human could have!!
And Memnoch, could u please reply to my Bushfires thread ?? U r in about the best possition to know whats going on with them... back here in the central west, its kindof hard to get news- our only source realy is the TV which only realy gives news on Elvis... So please, could u add ur knowledge to it?? I think it may be helpful. Especially want to know if the fire has Jumped the hawkesbury... I have grandparents who live in NOrth Waroonga. |

quote: Wahroonga seems to be safe - I think that they managed to contain that fire in Pennant Hills National Park. That came about 3 km from the commercial areas of Epping, which is where my office is located. I was starting to wonder if it was still going to be there when I came back from holidays. BTW, you might not want to use blue as a color next time, mate...it's really hard to read. |
