Alright, ive played BG1 and BG2 and there is nothing for me to play right now and i cant wait for the BGII expanison,
So my question is, is IWD worth buying? Ive heard a mixed reaction from some but i want some honest opinions, On another note, Will it still be fun even after BGII? cause i notice with BG1 that after i went back to play it after BG2 it kinda......sucked hehe Also should i pick up HoW too? Thanks |

YES, Icewind Dale is great! It is different from the BG games in a few ways.
First off, the storyline is linear and you don't do alot of side quests. Secondly, you roll up all of your pc's and no npc's join your party. I have only just bought HoW and haven't played it but I hear it is pretty good. Do try IWD! It's the reason I got BG2 in the first place! LOVE IWD! Lots of good dungeon crawls and the story is interesting. Moves much faster than BG1 or BG2, though. Still I'm playing it a second time now and liking it all over again, so it has a bit of replay value. ...you will buy Icewind Dale and Heart of Winter... Don't miss a great game. I love it because I don't have to think too hard like in BG/BG2. |

IWD has the look of Baldur's Gate. However, when you add the expansion it takes on the appearance of BG2. I would make sure to buy both IWD and HOW at the same time. I got $10 off the purchase price when buying both. Install both right away.
I did the same as you -- BG (for about 2 months) then BG2 (for about 5 months) and IWD is just great. |

Buy them both. I started IWD after BGII, and then got HOW later. It is still fun, but I reccomend getting IWD and HOW at the same time.
