I'm throwin up this post to ask you all your best dragon slaying tips either for SoA or ToB. Tell what kind of dragon you fought and how ya beat him. As for me, i've really been getting to the Monk class a lot more, and i found out the higher levels you go up, the easier it is to slay a dragon.

Shadow Dragon in Suldanesular- Death by Quivering Palm, instant victory. Realisticly, probably impossible, but hey, it happened.

Red Dragon in WK- I figured this dude would be like Firkragg and would give me a run for my money. I have myself (monk), Aerie, Imoen, Sarevok, Misc, and Jaheira in my party. First, I have Jaheira casts Iron Skins, then Aerie and Imoen cast stone skin. Jaheira casts Defensive Harmony, while Aerie casts Improved Invisibility and Imoen casts Protection from Magical Weapons. Jaheira uses Bless while Aerie uses Chant. My monk also uses Improved Invisibility. Aerie casts a second Defensive Harmony, and Rightous Magic.

I probably threw up other protections, but they slip my mind at the moment.

I go and talk to Saladrex, then we fight. As an opening attack, he casts spell trigger, and uses Wing Buffet on me. Barely scratches any of my characters. Misc and Aerie are under Fear and are running around. My monk uses Great Whirlwind attack, and cleans house. He deals out 30, maybe 40 points of damage, hitting 3-4 times before Saladrex gets another chance to attack. Again he uses Wing Buffet, and launches his breath weapon, still barely any damage. My whirldwind attack fades, and with another wing buffet and tail swipe, he really starts to hurt 3 of my guys, down to half their hit points.

He attacks Aerie, while Reno (monk), uses another G.W.A., and takes him down. Easy to say, this was one of my easiest dragon victories.

That's my 2 cents, feel my in peeps.

That's not as easy as mine. I posted it a while back and this was when I started SoA with an Undead Hunter. I'm reposting it here though. My party was Sir Sparhawk (Undead Hunter), Minsc, Haer D'alise, Jahiera, Yoshimo and Aerie.

Sir Sparhawk and his party entered the lair of Frikraag. They knew it was going to be a difficult battle but they did not know much about Frikraag. All they knew was that he was dangerous. Aerie summoned an earth element and an air element and Jahiera summoned a nymph as well. Yoshimo went into hiding to backstab. They then advanced after casting various protective spells on themselves. As they advanced they saw the biggest thing they had ever seen, a gigantic red dragon. It then greeted them and they realised that it was Frikraag.
'Hello puny mortal, do you want to live, if so I will let you take Garren Windspear's daughter home. The insults I have done are for my amusements and my curiosity.'
`Why did you insult me?' asked Sparhawk
'Because of your parentage. Your stepfather, Gorion once bested me in an encounter in his youth, I still bear the scars. However your true parentage as a Child of Bhaal was more interesting.'
'No I would fight you' replied Sir Sparhawk
‘As they say it’s your funeral’ answered Frikraag.
Yoshimo tried to backstab him but the dragon knew already where he was and Sir Sparhawk and Minsc then started laying into him with their two-handed swords. Haer D’alise and Aerie started hitting him with their magic missiles with only a few hitting him with a few. Jahiera then started casting a very long spell so she could cast harm. The two elements tore Frikraag’s pet mage, Conster apart but were fried by a blast of Dragon breath. Frikraag then tore into Minsc and killed him but fortunately Yoshimo had the rods of Resurrection. Frikraag started attacking Yoshimo and he had backed up against the wall of the chamber. Minsc appeared and cast bless on Sir Sparhawk. Yoshimo was trapped and the clever thief wonder how he could escape. Then Frikraag roared in surprise. Jahiera had come up behind him and touched him with Harm and the party could now kill him. Frikraag then started attacking Yoshimo savagely and the group attacked with fresh vigour. Then as Frikraag got ready for the most powerful spell at his disposal, Power word kill. An arrow came out of the blue and killed Frikraag dead. Sparhawk had hit him with an arrow.

My easiest dragon was the Black dragon in Suldanashneshar, whatever the spelling.

I have my kensei walk up to him, and ask for the item. the Dragon thought it was funny, and attacked me. What he didn't know is that I had greater haste cast on me already, so I use kai attack, max damages on every of my 9 hits. He didn't even get time to act.

Easy, though roundabout way to kill Firkragg using a Mage of some type. Tell Firkragg you'll kill him later. Cast as many skull traps you can cast from memory and scroll around the huge beast, being careful not to set them off. Next, summon a few monsters to stand near the skull traps, then cast as many lower resistance spells you can cast. He turns hostile, advances toward the summoned monsters and gets blown up by a chain reaction of skull traps while you stand in the corner and laugh. If he doesn't die from the skull traps, a cloudkill sould finish him off.

strangely i found firkraag to be easier than the soldanesular dragon.

i killed the red dragon on the first try! just loaded keldorn up with dragonslayer (it is all that) and dragon scale shield, put fire protection, haste and other protections on everyone, and cast a nishruu (think it died pretty early, might as well have been a kobold).

minsc and keldorn were my front line guys and when one got too damaged i'd pull him back to heal, send the other in. my spellcasters just cast breach and spellthrust spells, and later offensive stuff. used the same tactics on the other 2 evil dragons, and worked pretty well.

Abazigal:
He was in his dragon shape when Aerie cast Time stop + Improved Alacrity. Before that Imoen had casted a planetar summon and a chain contigency loaded with 3xADHW that would detonate on see enemy>nearest enemy. So Aerie casted Ruby Ray of reversal, Lower resistancex2, 2xADHW, Storm of Vengeance, Doom, Greater Malison and some other minor spells. When the time stop ended, Imoens contigency triggered and the beast fell like a brick.
Woah how hard that was. I think the dragons in SoA/ToB are all lame backstabbers that wont pose a threat unless you restrict yourself.(like restrict yourself to only cast lvl 1-5 spells or worse)

I don't see why it takes a much to put a dragon down. Just do what I do, or found to be a lot quicker, and make all of your tanks use Greater Whirlwind attack, took out a red dragon like he was nothing.

Without any use of even the slightest cheese Saladrex fell in no time.

Shoot, I guess my main character and Korgan could have taken him out with little or no resistance.

If we're just talking about "easy," I'd have to say that my easiest Dragon fight was the unnamed green Dragon on Watcher's Keep Level 5. I felt sorry for the poor fella, he didn't even have a name.... So I just ignored all my spells, abilities, etc: I just selected my entire group and said "Attack."

One mouse click and a few seconds later, bam. Mazzy & Keldorn were badly injured, but with the Ring of Gaxx, who cares?
