As the subject says: which movie reminds you the most of roleplaying games?
I would say Gladiator, even though it's not really Fantasy, it's more historical. But the whole "feel" of the movie was the closest thing that I got to RPG environments. I was hoping that the D&D movie would be good, but it turned out to be the biggest piece of shit that I ever saw. I'm looking forward to seeing the Mummy Returns though. ------------------ |

I thought both of my favorite movies were. Excalibur and Braveheart.

oooooohhhhhh good thread... (Shouldn't this be in the polls forum? *ducks the mighty hand of Memnoch* )
OK... FANTASY and FAVORITE being the key here... Highlander or Hawk the Slayer <---- I bet NONE of you have ever heard of this one, but it was sooo much fun. I know what the majority is going to vote for, though. "As you Wish" ------------------ The RudeDawg Known in these Forgotten Realms as Perin LightEyes and my girlfriends, Pamila and Pfil |

Hmmm...good question.
I'd have to say either of the Conan movies are the closest thing to a RPG that I've seen. I'd also say the 13th Warrior, for those of you who might have seen that short-lived movie. Lastly...maybe Willow... Memnoch, I saw Mummy Returns a couple of days ago. Very fun movie! Not much of a plot, but very entertaining with unbelievable special effects. Not quite as campy as the first one either, which is a good thing IMHO. ------------------ Now where did I leave that doughnut?! |

LS, Labyrinth was great!
I haven't seen many movies that give me a real RPG feel... I mean I liked Braveheart to name just one but that has nothing to do with RPG, except that the locations could be perfect for a D&D setting. I am really biting my nails in anticipation of the first LOTR movie though! ------------------ Melusine, Archbabe of the Order of the Holy Flame and the Laughing Hyenas, & Official Entertainer Elf of the BG2 Bar Your voice is ambrosia |

PS: Some of the Conan movies looked RPGish.. and I agree (again) that the D&D movie was a complete failure, and it's too bad. I KNEW the second I saw that Waynes brother that he would be the 'comedu factor' type guy, and that ruined it. If they went with a Drizzt type story, THAT would have been good. and now, we have that one kid in Lord of the Rings (ugh), I hope to the gods it's better. Ziroc |

Ok, Rudedawg, I do Love Princess Bride (As you Wish **falls down hill**) but it would not be the movie that is going to have the best feel. Everyone was Human, no elves, no gnomes, no monsters ...
I am Way looking forward to the Final Fantasy movie that is coming out this summer in the states. Should be really cool. As well as the Lord of the Rings movies ... What about the old Return of the Jedi/empire strikes back. They have a very high rating of RPG content stuff, IMHO. You might not of liked them, but you do have to conceed the whole RPG aspect.
