You can check the best tips thread for ideas, but you really don't have to kill him -- that's not what completes the quest.

You can try range spells, like firestorm and meteorstorm, and you can use my favorite placeholder, flamedrop. While it's dropping, he can't get an attack in edgewise. Running up and whomping on him as hard and fast as you can has also been known to work.

Finally, you can just keep chasing him, hitting him when and wherever you can. Eventually, you'll be able to slay him. Bring real food, though, 'cause it can take hours.

The way to complete the quest, is to bring back the 'Stone of Clover'. It's in a chest...in the area around Kerahs underwater shrine. After you get the speech and the obolisk....swim up to the suface and look around...

However...If you just, feel you must....one thing I never thought to try...is...'Pertrification'. If you can't find any way to do damage, once he's been turned to stone...you could carry him off, away from his 'normal range.....and turn him back to flesh. Sometimes they get confused...and just stand there.

Driven crazy by "youcannotcatchmeyoucannotcatchmeyoucannotcatchme"? You can - he is terribly mistaken! You must be fast because Leprechaun tries to evaporate. I suggest Incinerate and Lightning or a similar high level highly destructive spell because Leprechaun is highly resistant (not immune) to any kind of spell. The spells always worked for me. Trying to hack him down with my weapons always failed miserably - Leprechaun succeeded to vanish and never occured again.
Perhaps, Hands of Time would help, too. I've never tried Hands of Time.

Where have you been? I mean ( rhyme ) where is Kerahs underwater shrine?
I have mission from thief's guild to bring proof of Leprechaun. Can I complete mission by killing L, or do I have to seek that shrine and get Stone of Clover?

Don't have that Return Home spell yet so can't Teleport my party back and forth, so don't like to sail back to Brimloch and back to L.

Killing the leprechaun... is very difficult...and only gets you xp. You need the amulet...to complete the Quest.

When you do the shrine of Anephas...you will find a 'lift' that takes you to Kerah...she provides the key (the obolisk/prism) to the exit, of the shrine.
You just have to remember to swim up to the surface.....and look around, for the chest & the 'Stone of clover'...

... ...before you ride the lift...Save....and cast 'illuminate'...(it works underwater...but you can not cast it underwater)..I have drowned...trying to find the lever...It's really dark!!!

Ok Packrat! Now to seach shrine of Anephas! Well I havn't been in skull isle yet, so mayby I go there first...
I found Talrik ( that pirate by ship wreck ) and gave him his hook.
He told me to get some furs to get treasure map from him.
First I get shore to his ship and faced two ugly creatures and got them furs. I gaved one to Talrik and he gaved me a map.
Then I have to restore game from saved game, cause my ship get jammed into sand! Damn! Then I get back to Talrik but didn't find those creatures again... Does that map lead you into Coliseum or what? And is it worth to hunt those creatures from skull isle?

1. The creatures are Longtooths. They are random encounters anywhere in the Brimloch Roon area. Sure Longtooths are near the Pyramid.
2. Talrik's "map" isn't very helpful. In fact, it isn't a map but a hint where you should search Collaseum. You do not need the map at all if you know where Collaseum is. Moreover, the whole "quest" gives you no profit except the "map". Therefore, do not waste effort searching longtooths. If they come in your way, take the hide and decide whether it is worthy to go to Talrik or not.
The longtooth hides are big and heavy with respect to the price you can get for them in shops. Throw them away if you don't need them for Talrik.
3. If you have the Vanish spell then you can reach Leprechaun area without going through Anephas Shrine. Go to the north "entrance" to Skull Castle Island. Swim north to the border of the area. You will see that the "forest" there forms a "V". Go to the top of the left edge of the "V". Turn north and cast Vanish. You will be injected through the forest to the Leprechaun area (tested). Perhaps, you can also catch the light obelisk there and bypass the damned elevator in the shrine (not sure, perhaps Anephas has to be awaken first but the game is so buggy that it could pass). Teleport away after exploiting the area.
