Bas, Anne, Tamora, Spot, Lorath

Bas' magic fixed the most immediate of Anne's worries, stopping the bleeding and making her arm feel like there was some structure left within it, but she was still completely incapable of using it. Any probing would find that both the upper and lower bone of her arm were broken in several places. Both Spot and Tamora, who had seen plenty such injuries before, knew that it would heal much faster and more regularly if it was properly splinted.

Treatment by the druid would probably mean her arm would be useable again in a day or two, but even so it would still be in considerable pain and prone to breaking again if subjected to anything too strenuous.

It also remained a pretty spectacular bruised colour and very swollen.

Lorath

With everyone else focused on Anne's mishap, Lorath was the only one who saw the large cactus stand up and unfold itself into a familiar shape with two legs and four arms, then walk away from the cliff's edge and out of sight. What had appeared to be yellow blossoms looked like the bulbous eyes on either side of the thing's head, and the "roots" had been limbs. Abdomen and torso had been the bulk of the "cactus'" mass.

Spot stands up from the group crowding around Anne, taking a step back. "Well, that looks better. I think it'd be best to get that held down nice n' steady, though. I've seen it done, and I'm good with a knot, but..." She shrugs, waiting nearby.

"Surprised you couldn't fix it all up in one go, really. Things must be pretty lousy where you're from..." She manages to keep a straight face.

Bas reassured Anne that she owed him nothing, told Tamora that he is not really that wise, then gawked at Spot's mention of having seen someone use healing and potentially druidic magic. He was, of course, oblivious to her joking at his expense.

Lorath wasn't overly concerned with the injury. They had survived similar injuries before, and always recovered even if it took a few days, or even a week. He was confident that, as long as Anne didn't try to climb the cliff again, her arm would be better in short order.

For now, he waited with his information for the others to get near. When they got close, he told them about what he had seen. "The purple cacti that I saw earlier aren't cacti at all. I just saw one get up and walk away after taking the shape of one of those insects we fought, it was walking around up there." He pointed to the top of the cliff. "It's probably a good thing we didn't end up going that way, they might be gathering there." Then he turned to survey the path ahead of them, looking for an abundance of purple cacti, difficulties on the trail, or bandits who decided to bleed over to this path. "We shouldn't risk getting ambushed by those things. When we see one, it'd be a good idea to chop it up or burn it before it can awaken."

Spot did her best to tie strips of cloth to the wood that had been arranged around Anne's arm. Not a perfect job, but it would hopefully keep it still enough. She tried to avoid explaining her comment about healing magic, while wondering if the druid and ranger would be too happy about the thought of committing plant genocide.

Tamora

Tamora nodded at Bas’s words. So be it then – they would take the other path. They would have to be cautious but then when had that not been the case? She made a mental note that Lorath’s manner seemed to obscure a keen mind and regretted again that she hadn’t made the effort to learn about the man and his magical abilities. She was here to learn after all. She shook her head but resolved to remember when the opportunity presented itself.

While Bas and spot conversed she had taken some of the spare cloth that had functioned all too frequently as bandages and cut a few lengths of stick from a nearby bush. Once the conversation was finished she took up Spot’s offer to secure Anne’s arm, lending what help she could and keeping half an eye on the halfling woman’s actions – quietly seeking an insight into the woman’s character.

That done she prepared herself to go with the others on whichever of the other paths they have chosen – following Bas’ lead.
