You allways hear about some nutcase somewhere else blameing screwed up behavior on a movie or game or show ect. This kinda scared me,this guy had been playing max pain nonstop and when he woke up one day(last day or two)he decided he was in the game and must kill someone in a red car.As with any similar case I belive the guy had to be on or over the edge before getting ideas from a game.I just hope this won't add fuel to those who advacate that violence in movies and games produces these behaviors.Anywho he showed up in a town park at lunchtime and attacked a father and two daughters (this was random he didn't know any of them)who had arrived in a red car.He threw the two girls over in the picknick table they were eating lunch at,and started to assult the stunned father.Punches were exchanged ect. finally passerbys helped to restrain the guy.I'm just glad the guy didn't show up with a gun or some other weapon.

Perhaps we should institute mandatory psychiatric testing for those who wish to watch particular movies, buy particular games, get married and/or have children, etc? Only one test per year, mind you, to keep the cost down.
Seriously, though, there are too many people whose grasp of reality is really shaky; they should stay away from certain activities.

that's not a bad idea, but would it really work? they can get crazy ideas from more than just movies and games. the internet, for example...all kinds of pages they shouldnt be seeing. can we tell them they cant use the internet either? or not allow them to buy cable tv? you can't totally control someone's life like that

but the thing the media likes to overlook is that they're messed up BEFORE they see the movie or play the game, not because of it

Exactly... The edge of sanity/insanity is a simple one to understand...

Everyone gets crazy thoughts in ones head... The sane person ignores the thoughts of killing, raping, and pillaging...

The insane person just needs something to wrap those thoughts around in order to act upon them... Games, TV, and the internet are all playgrounds for the distortion of reality...

Great, yet another one of the VIGMUV cases. this is really getting up my nose. They'll capture Bin Laden, and he'll say something like "I had a bad experiance with Flight Simulator."
When will people learn that it's not the games, it's the pscycos?
