Tis the time of year again to honor and remember our fallen. We had a nice tribute flag pole ceremony on post this morning, followed by a light breakfast. Some big events happening throughout the day as well.

The VFW was to open at 0900hrs, we have bussed some homeless down from Louisville to have at least a meal, a song, a prayer, and somebody to talk to today.

The Legion is doing a ceremony this afternoon as well as a flag lowering and "Taps"!

The Iron Knights rode to Arlington this year, obviously did not make it. They are due back tonight.

All I ask of you for the day is simple:
1. If you see a veteran, thank him.
2. If you observe a ceremonial ride, parade, or other event, stop and let them continue.
3. If you don't know a veteran, don't get out, or are not able to, click here and give a moment to any one that is listed here.

God may or may not have blessed America.
Men, as in our fore fathers gave us freedom through the Constitution.
It is the men and women of the Armed Forces that protect your freedom and defend the Constitution.

I DO SOLEMNLY SWEAR THAT I WILL SUPPORT AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES AGAINST ALL ENEMIES, FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC; THAT I WILL BEAR TRUE FAITH AND ALLEGIANCE TO THE SAME; AND THAT I WILL OBEY THE ORDERS OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES AND THE ORDERS OF THE OFFICERS APPOINTED OVER ME, ACCORDING TO REGULATIONS AND THE UNIFORM CODE OF MILITARY JUSTICE. SO HELP ME GOD.

Hey, I could have been a veteran by now. I was supposed to ship out to boot camp July 25 of 2005 for the Marines. I was going to be in the infrantry, but I couldn't go. My town doesn't have a parade for Memorial day, they just wait to have a parade for Independence day.
