I read below that TeamBG has made an exp cap remover for BG/ToSC, together with the attendant rules pack. I am sorely tempted to install it as I am still in Chap 5 (just completed all ToSC quests) and already most of my party have hit the limit of 161,000 points.

What would happen if I installed the exp cap remover, completed the game, and then imported my character into BG2? My fear is that this might somehow mess things up & render BG2 difficult to play.

I'd say before you import the character, get a rules pack and EXP Cap Remover. I think TeamBG has one for BG2. It might work.

As far as I know, it doesn't mess up.

When you import a character with more than 161,000 EXP, it just gets bumped down to 161,000, and of course takes back any hitpoints/weapon proficiencies, etc., gained from Leveling Up beyond the cap.
