I do not know if I'm wrong or what, but it seems that every mage in the game folows the same procedure:
Cast all defensive spells in a contigency spell which occurs on enemy sighted and then on the first round cast Abis horrid wilting on your party, which is near him (!) so hi also casts it on himself!. NO sane mage would cast one of his spells on him even if he thinks he is protected save the case he is desperate. Furthermore, no sane mage would have made a contigency on enemy sighted because an 0-lvl human thief would have spoiled their precious spells! Does any other think I'm true?

That is true, malla Darthiir. Lloth kyorl dos! That's the reason why player mages don't use contingencyes save when carefully planned (before tough battle).
Horrid wilting hurts only enemies.

The mages are always prepared to meet YOU. Therefore they have these spells!

Don't they usually have a spell trigger that they fire when they see you, then a contingency when they are at 50% (25%?) of their h/p?

Depends on how skilled the mage is. The better mage, the more protection.

Add to that their Spell Tattoo, which is part of their script, it fires another defense for them instantly. Darthiir, if you have a problem with their AI, download the Sola Mod, and install the Improved Mage section, and download and install the Spell-50 Mod. If after that you`re still complaining about their AI, I will be VERY surprised. |
