Which multi-classed character is better for playing a solo game.
A thief/mage or a fighter/mage |

Solo? I'd pick fighter/mage, should things get "up close and personal".

I just went to make a character for fun,so I chose a Demi-orc and made him Fighter/Thief and he's doing very good. You should try it,maybe you'll like it.

a thief mage has the advantage where traps abound.. he can still use a short bow/crossbow/longsword and well, its really only a problem if you want to wear armour.(but its no problem, usually you are wearing a robe anyway)backstab is invaluable, and when you start using invis spells to backstab you will agree.
no real reason why a f/m is better, unless you add the /t. (f/m/t) remember, just an opinion.. hope it helps you out. ------------------ |

yeah fighter/mages are overall pretty good but thief/mages have invisibility at will with hide in shadows and disarm trap ability's.
I'm just wondering which one is easier to play solo with. because I want to play with the harder one. |

It depends on your style of game play, fighter/mage will have the benefit of higher hitpoints (in theory), better THAC0, and varity of weapons to choose from. While a thief/mage is more tactical, they will need to take advantage of the thief's abilities and need to play more cunning.

yeah I like having to think more about what I'm about to do. I think it adds alot to the fun in playing most RPG's.
