ive been playing a lot of multiplayer latly and ive come to one conclusion... Single player in this game sux, it sux bad, the story line in this game is soo stupid. For example, if you were a rouge or a evil anything, what force would drive you to help out a bunch of sickly people, there is really no incentive except to get a meger reward, further more it seems completely linier, very unlike the Baldurs gate games which gave you a choice sometimes, So i have quit playing the single player and went full time into the multiplayer which has proven to be just as addictive as the Baldurs gate series( i am a huge BG fan) so i would like anyone to tell me why the single player is worth wasting my time on?

Uh "meager rewards" are significant. it's a question of scale. Given you complete level 20 before you'd make 12 under D&D2 rules, the 350 point reward is very well comparable with 20k you get in Baldur's gate.

Furthermore, the plot/game is better than the vast majority of online mods I've played thus far.

The single player plot sux because Bioware wanted this to be a multi-player game, but people with sucky connections (like me) who have tons of lag want something to play where there is no lag get it? I really dont find the plot all that bad anyway *shrug*

You don't speak for me and I dare say I have seen more CRPG plots than most people.

I don't think the plot sucks at all, It seems to be an interesting story to me. Perhaps you would enjoy another genre than RPG? Perhaps a FPS or an RTS? or an adventure type game?

[/QUOTE]I wouldn't suggest he change genre, just game; the plot in NWN hasn't, so far, compared with any of the previous Bioware titles or with competitors like Wizardry or Morrowind. I wouldn't go far as to say it sucks, but it is kinda lacking something.

Err actually, a part of the Collective is with MagiK on this..

Change genre... If you don't see the benefits of of actually going through the plots, don't try Morrowind, cause people still asks you to do things that is not benficial for you...

Well, different tasteprobably, the one thing you can try though is the Morag Tong part of Morrowind though...

i think this game has some great potential for multiplayer capability, ihave found a great server that suits what i want in an online RPG, but i just cant get hooked on the story line, the other bioware titals had interesting plots and intriguing stuff like trying to find and kill your family member and heritage(Baldurs gate tales of swords coast) or get back your soul!(this was a personal fav.(in BGII) and yes i do like morrowwind, i can stand that, it is very openended, thats one of the things i have about nwn stoyline, it seems so linier to me that i dont even want to try it

Magik is quite right here. I think the plot is very good for the length of the solo mode game and with the ability to download modules that give you new/different adventures it surpasses my expectations. I have to admit that I started NWN by comparing it with BG, which was a huge mistake they are not the same, and to be honest I have come to like NWN better than the BG series. With anything new or first there is always room for improvement and I believe Bio-ware will improve on NWN like they did with the BG series. Now I firmly believe you have the right to voice your opinion but I have to say that this may not be the place to do so, I think just about everyone here has a passion for RPG/CRPG & loves NWN. I come here to compare characters ask questions and most of the time just enjoy reading the various threads. I don't usually comment on threads like these and if there are some out there that believe I'm out of line so be it but I just get tired of folks coming here game bashing. I like to hear your opinion of the game but with descriptive facts especially on a site where everyone owns the game and enjoys playing it.
