Deiter just looks at Killing Spree with a confused look on his face. Then it all comes rushing back to him. He sits up and shakes his head slowly as if trying to clear it. Looking over at her and seeing her tear streaked face he tries to remember how long his been gone.

~Concern shines in her eyes over his confused look. She wipes her tears from her eyes with her sleeve and looks at him, her gray-blue eyes somewhat bloodshot. She sniffs, forcing a slight smile as he shakes his head. She tries to speak, but the lump in her throat prevents all but a whisper.~ "Deiter?"

Not saying a word he leaned over and hugged her. At that moment he was just thankful that she was here.

(ooc: Now, who's doing the crying? )

She walks forward and draws out the bauble. Placing it gently into the opening between the cupped hands, she motions for Larry to step back with her.

Rays of white light shoot out from the bauble, blinding them. They struggle to keep their eyes open, but the intensity overwhelms them. She peers from behind her upraised palm, waiting for some dimness to return... finally, her wishes are answered and the room regains its former brightness. In the place of the bauble is a glowing orb, swirling with a kaleidoscope of hues.

She falls on her knees in reverence. ~ "This is a truly magnificent artifact..." ~ her tones are hushed ~ "Legend has it that some of these are dragon orbs, which could well control the universe as we know it." ~ She reaches into her pockets and extracts some parchment. Carefully lifting the orb from its position, she wraps it with yet more parchment before placing it securely within her robes.

Turning to Larry, she says tensely ~ "We've got to return to the temple fast. Our lives are in danger as long as this remains in our possession; I know it." ~
Her eyes rake across the room, and rest on what appears to be a door.

(ooc: I'm continuing after this, wait again...)

~She puts her arms around his neck, resting her chin on his shoulder. The lump in her throat prevents her from speaking, though she was not sure what she would say anyway. She turns her head to the side and kisses his cheek, clinging to him, not wanting to lose him yet again.~

Striding to the door impatiently, she bites her lip from uttering an oath. ~ "It's locked from the outside!" ~ Suddenly notices something odd ~ "There's a hole near the top of this door. I can see beyond it... seems to be yet another door after this. I've a gut feeling that's the last door we'll be seeing in this darn cave." ~

Turning around, she indicates the peculiar hole to Larry. It is squarish in shape, about four inches in both length and width. ~ "One of us has to get across to the other side so that we can open this with the rusty key... Isabeau can't fit through this hole and Nightblade is unable to carry out such a complicated task." ~

Deiter pulls back and looks into her grey eyes. Smiling a little he gently kisses her lips. He held her to him once again and felt like he never wanted to let go.

Looking at the small hole, Larry wonders how something is supposed to fit through it to get out...
