My one is an Aspire 1200 XC.
But even if I wanted to turn it down.. how would I?

Weisi [/QB][/QUOTE]After a little digging I've found that the Aspire 1200 XC should be running at either 1GHZ or 1.3GHZ, but since you are experienceing overheating I'm going to assume it should be at 1.0GHZ. A 300MHZ overclock doesn't seem like much for a desktop, but for a laptop it's insane. It should be using a VIA ProSavage 133 chip.http://www.via.com.tw/en/ProSavage%20Chipsets/pn133.jsp

Now, since most Intel Processors are multiplier locked, I'm assuming that any overclock would be handled through the FSB, but unfortunately I'm not sure what FSB your Celery should be running at. Probably 100 or 133. If it's set to 133, change it back to 100. This 33MHZ difference equals the 300MHZ processor speed increase.
