Not a bad point, honestly, though the writer comes off slightly to the psychopathic side...but seriously, obsession is something that is incresingly common in the everyday lives of people that I'm around on any given day, which leads me to believe that we live in an obsessive society. That's not a good thing...

It's... it's not true!

My life revolves around gaming (and I'm happy, so what the hey?)- taking that away from me would unleash my dark side

I don't see what they have a problem with. We have different views in life - get over it. Let's just all live in peace without them trying to change us.

Heh heh. I think that that's exactly Scott Kurtz's point

I disagree, I'm not thinking all the time about gaming. I do it a lot, but only because there is hardly anything else to do. Sure, I could go outside, but then what? I sure won't hang out alone, and ALL my friends are either working, being away or simply living too far from my house to be able to just come over here! Would be great if I could. This article is based on assumptions, and SURELY aren't true for me and more people like me. I think there are enough kids who are addicted, but did that happen because of bad parenting or because the games are 'just there'?

The author's definitely right, we're far too screen-oriented. Video games are alright, I do play them once in a while, but I infinitely prefer going out drinking or reading a good book. I don't even like TV. If I watch half an hour a day it's a lot. I think the problem with computers, games and TV is that they're instantly rewarding from a visual perspective. You're immersed right away and it takes no effort to enjoy from that point on. We're lazy, obsessive, and convenience-ridden, which just about sums up modern-day life. Welcome to the 21st century, folks....
