Quotes, sayings or proverbs.

Personally, I'll go with the following:
-"Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in his shoes. Then when you do criticize that person, you'll be a mile away and have his shoes."
-"Patience will come to those who wait long enough for it."
-"T’are not our problems that define us. But the way we deal with them."

I have a full set, but here are some of my favorites:

Whether you think that you can, or that you can't, you are usually right. -- Henry Ford

I never make stupid mistakes. Only very, very clever ones. -- The Doctor, Timewyrm: Genesys

Well my favourite quote is the one I used to have in my sig:

Tout ce qui est simple est faux, et tout ce qui est compliqué est inutilisable - Paul Valéry Overly simplistic perhaps but it still holds an ounce of truth.

Another one is quaedam iura non scripta sed omnibus scriptis certiora sunt. From Seneca I believe. One of them anyway.

Everything that's simple isn't right, and everything that's complicated is unusable? Did I translate that about right? My French lessons in school were long ago.

Um... something about things being written down for certain...? My Latin lessons were even longer ago than my French ones, and I slept through most of them.

Anyway, my own favorite quote:
"Wees uzelf!" zei ik tot iemand,
Maar hij kon het niet; hij was niemand.

By P.A. de Génestet.
In English:
"Be yourself!" I said to someone,
But he couldn't; he was no-one.
