Most spells and highest intelligance is Edwin hes also the only pure mage.

There's only one serious (and it is a serious) disadvantage with Edwin; he's a Conjuror. That means - uh-oh - no divination magics! No Identify, no Wizard Eye to direct his summoned creatures, no True Sight, no Detect Invisibility... admittedly, that just gives you more room to stock up on powerful magics, and if you have a secondary mage or a cleric that's usually no problem, but, still... Edwin's not flawless.
