Near Infinity Question

This program seems to be very hard to use. i got it mainly because of one thing, i wanted to make the robe of vecna look like the robe of archmagi. or then make the robe of evil archmagi have the stats of the robe of vecna. the archmagi robe looks so cool, but i want to have the casting speed thingie of vecnas robe. can someone either tell me how i make the robe of vecna look like the robe of archmagi and so on. if its too hard to explain or something, could someone more familiar with the program just make it for me?

a side question: whats up with the, was it the eye of vecna.

If you want to edit items, you would be better with Infinity Engine Editor Pro (IEEP).

If Vdran haven't made it already, here's a quick walkthrough:

1. Open Near Infinity
2. Open the folder ITM
3. Locate the file 'CLCK17.ITM'
4. Go to the subsection 'Edit'
5. Press 'Add', and then 'Effect'
6. Press 'View/Edit'
7. Press 'Type', and browse through the list until you find 'Increase casting speed factor (189)'. Click this, and press 'Update Value'
8. Set the Targettype to 'TargetSelf'
9. Leave the Power at 0
10. Set the Amount to 4
11. Leave the first Unknown at 00 00 00 00h
12. Set the Duration to 'Instant/While Equipped (2)'
13. Set the Dispel/Resistance to 'No dispel/Not bypass resistance (2)'
14. Leave the Time at 0
15. Set the first Probability to 100 and leave the second at 0
16. Set the Unknown to '00 9c 8c 40 00 05 04 00'
17. Leave the remaining categories the way they are
18. Close the Effects-window, and save the robe

Tada!

Well, I am not so acquainted with NI.
But I should have known how to copy the effect. Bah.

Easier way is to find WA2ROBE, go to Edit section and click copy on the "increase casting speed bonus"
Then go to CLCK17 and paste it.

IT WORKED!!!! I also named the robe anew. its now called the robe of (charname). i also wrote a history for it. i suspect ill be using this program alot in the future. one question remains however, what effect does the Unknown '00 9c 8c 40 00 05 04 00' have. is it like different for every item? another question would be, why doesnt the item list have the robe of vecna?

Robe of Vecna is WA2ROBE. Go to Tools -> Find -> Items.
I presume that nobody apart Bioware knows what effect that has. The makers of the programs didn't know, so they put "unknown".
I think that Exxon looked in Robe of Vecna's effect and wrote informations it says there. It is easier to copy-paste the effect.
