Yay! No homework and nothing to do tonight!
Following up from last night where I had loads of homework and everything to do round the house... getting in from school only at 7, after a menotring session, drum lessons, and a japanese lesson. Then having to try to fix the two family computers. (Anyone know why it won't realise that there is a CD-ROM drive attached? I can't figure it out... Tried reattaching the cable and everything...) And also help my Dad prepare a slide show on GIlbert and Sullivan. And then homework for four subjects due today. Crashed at 2 am after finsihing a sum total of one of those tasks (my Dad's thing). The rest are all still in a state of half-completion. This was not helped by the fact that I realised I no longer have microsoft word on this computer. I was trying to type out the work in notepad, draw diagrams in paint, and then transfer them to my Dad's laptop to place in Word. (as I can't use laptop keyboards or touch pads ). I plan to be in bed in 5 minutes, at 9 30 This is Callum Kerr, signing off from Malaysia

First thing I'd check, Callum, is to see if the OS recognizes the CD-ROM. You can see that at boot time; if it doesn't stay around long enough to read, you'll have to do the delete/F1 thing to get into the BIOS. That will show you all the devices.
You do need to make sure that multiple devices on one IDE ribbon have a slave and a master. If you don't... well, I'd expect neither device to work, but I'm not sure. You also need to make sure it's properly connected. That includes pulling and reseating *both* ends of the ribbon cable, as well as pulling and reseating the power cable. Remember that the red stripe goes next to power... If that doesn't work, then tell us what you did in between when it worked and when it didn't... And Dron_Cah, good luck on those tests! *edit* poert? what the heck was I drinking? That should have been power... [ 02-25-2005, 09:08 AM: Message edited by: Bungleau ]

Yeah, Drew, good luck!
I guess there's no point in offering assistance w/ the drive...I only know what Bungleau and Dron already said. Hey, all...just dropping by to say "Physics is Phun" and then leaving.

Hello IW!
I was away for the last six days. Why? Some nasty virus I caught, chained me to my bed, teas and pills. I had a very high fever ever day, from 37 to 40 degrees. I also couldn't sleep becuase I was coffing all the time. It's good to be back. |

Glad your better Xen
It's Boro v Grazer AK (Austrian) tonight, the second leg. It is 2-2 on aggregate, so if we draw 1-1 or 0-0 we are through because of our 2 away goals. The weather is freezing, wet, and maybe a bit snowy...should be fun .

Afternoon, all. I have just gotten a new module for NWN, "Kiss of Fate." It's great, thus far. It has the only hot female henchwoman that I have ever discovered that I want to throttle.

Hope you feel better now, Xen. I've been fighting a cold/virus for a week+ so I can sympathize!
LOL, that bad, Atty? Maybe it adds dimension to the mod?!
