On Civ 2 it keeps on telling me to raise taxes..so I raise the taxes..then it comes up with another message saying raise taxes..so i do...BUT I can't raise it anymore because it only goes up to 80%! I have gone to the option "revolution" to use a different government to increase the taxes but Republic Monarchy and Depotisim won't allow me to go any higher than 80% taxes ...i can't high tax collectors because I don't have the option...Any help ?

I had the exsact problem.

What you do is is click on on the Ore/FOod bits on the Information screen when you click on the city.

That may not be excaley accurate, but I havent played it in a while.

You need to go into some of your cities and take away some food production then once you to that look above the the city window you will see a bunch of people. When you take away some food production you are able to change one of the 3 types of people that you get. Tax collector, entertaner and scientist.

I hope this gives you some help as I haven't played it in over a year and a half.

Another thing that will help income is setting up trade routes. It is a tedious task, but will help with money woes.

Tedious, but I find that its critical sometimes in a pinch. Good point.
