Hail and well met fellow adventurers. I am no stranger to the gaming world, but have only recently discovered Wizards and Warriors. Of course this means that I am very recently addicted.

I've enjoyed my adventuring in Gael thus far, and have completed the crypt just this evening. However, one problem plagues me-- gold. In my many years of adventuring, nothing has irritated me more than lack of coin to enjoy myself.

Shamefacedly, I admit, I checked the Ironworks cheat section and tried the gold cheat there listed, only to find it no longer works, which I am assuming is due to the patch applied that fixes "various bugs with the Inn." Further still, I ventured to hex editing, and well, let's just say I'm glad I back everything up.

Tell me then, good Lords and Ladies where can I obtain a fair amount of gold in these lands? I have little coin to spare, and I dare say, narry enough to support my adventure. My items are left unidentified and sadly, a comrade left dead for wont of a temple priest with a more shallow purse.

It's quite irksome to be hindered by lack of gold, any and all help appreciated. I look forward to many more hours of entertainment.

Read my topic on invincability and it will solve your gold problems, leaving you stunned at how much you can get! It is a great way to earn money that technically isn't cheating cuz it was put in the game for us to realize. I hope that helps with your delimna.

I found that to be a problem myself, so that's why I kept the patch *uninstalled*. At any rate, the Spirit of Rumpy (however do you spell that?!?) in the mausoleum in the crypt is the solution to your problems. He is relatively easy to despatch, and re-appears everytime you exit and re-enter the crypt (flick the switch to exit, flip it again to enter). According to Saz this works if you just leave to the room where Kerah's statue stands. Either way, it can be done in short time if you run. Each time you off Rumpy or whatever his name is you will get about 7000 XP to be divided among your party, AND he drops a Wand of Stars that once identified can be sold for 500 gold (250 otherwise). So what you want to do is to collect several wands so you only pay the identify fee once, and that identifies the lot, and you can sell them off.

Hope that helps

Hi Lord... and welcome to the board! There are several ways to make money in the game. The most common, and maybe the the most "clean" way is just to sell what you find in the shops. Here are two other useful tips (which, unfortunately, can only be applied after reaching Ishad N'Ha):

1) Have a ranger learn fletchery (warrior guild level 5). Then get the quest to deliver a dragon arrow to Torin. After getting the credits for the quest, steal the arrow back. Enchant it as much as possible in the city temple. Equip the arrow and a bow and let the ranger make more and more arrows, which can be sold at a great profit.

2) Join the bushi guild in Ishad N'Ha and buy Takekatsau (pardon my spelling) arrows. Buy as many as you can afford and then sell them back. You'll easlily make 500k, but I bet you'll get a sore index-finger from all the clicking involved.

My thanks to you all. I've adopted what I now call the "Rumphy Run" - it seems somewhat legitimate and practical as I'm gaining experience and the wands to sell. It's true that you only need go back to the statue of Kerah.

Thanks Again!

No reason to doubt Saz - he's the man! Thing was I never tried it myself because I stopped doing the, erm, Rumphy Run before I found out about the statue. Enough XP and gold to proceed with the game
