Any Radiohead fans here on the boards? Have you heard the new album? I think its good, It's much better than Kid A (Not hard actually, Kid A was just a joke), about as good as Ok Computer but certainly no Bends. My fave song is Pyramid song.
What did you think?

I don't tend to listen to music radio so miss things like the fact that Radiohead have another new album out. How come we wait so long for Kid A, then get another within a year?

Haven't heard it yet (2 weeks 'til payday)

I heard they had so many songs left after the Kid A recording seesions they decided to put all the "Arty farty" songs on Kid A and the Almost normal songs on Amnisiac. Thom Yorke said Kid A was just a "joke" (Which I forked out 20$ for, I'm not laughing Thom!)

I like Kid A a lot, but it was nowhere near as good as OK Computer and The Bends. There are some fantastic songs on it though, even if some of it sounds like them messing around. Also I saw them live in September, and some of the songs came over better live than the recorded version.
I only got Amnesiac a couple of days ago, and I haven't had a chance to listen to it much yet. My first impressions are that it is not so much of an album as Kid A because the songs don't seem to fit together as well. However, there are some amazing tracks that are equal to anything else they've ever done. There are also some really terrible ones that don't seem to have any point or go anywhere. It's a mixed bag, but most of it's pretty damn fine stuff.

To me, what sums Kid A and Amnesiac is that Radiohead have written some incredible songs, that have only been played live, and never been released. Motion Picture Soundtrack was one of these. I've got a copy of a live version from a couple of years ago, and it is probably one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard (I would say better than Pyramid Song, and coming close to Fake Plastic Trees and No Surprises). When I heard it was on Kid A I couldn't wait to hear it, but the version on the album was totaly different, and no way near as good.

Just my 2 cents.
