...and for some reason I cant connect to the internet properly, I can view pages and use MSN, but if I try to view a movie or listen to a audio file from a website it will not allow me...also any smileys that are in this forum that move don't move...its really annoying cuase it also stops auto updates...

.MP3 files contain a representation of the actual sound, in compressed form. .mid files contain the notes that are played. So in order to convert a .mp3 to a .mid, you would need a program that can read the file, identify the notes and instruments (to say nothing of the vocals) and write them to .mid . The only way I can think of to do that is to get a decent musician and get him to convert by hand. If there is software to do it automaticaly, it will very likely cost an arm and a leg and the output will probably suck.

The internet stuff sounds like something has changed your internet options.

What could have caused that?

I haven't changed anything since I reformatted...

Converting raw music data to midi format is a complicated process as stated above. Midi only stores the time, pitch and length each note for each instrument is played so midi files are very small. However they sound different on different hardware as they just make calls to the nearest matching instrument your soundcard knows. The good news is that there are loads of good MIDI files available for download - mainly of computer game music, but this is not a bad thing.
