how do you get past that woman that is looking for some book? When I go inside the tomb and get the sword and shield, they attack. Can you give me some tips on how to beat them?

When I first met her, I suggested that - if the treasure was so valuable - then maybe I would keep it for myself. This led to her party attacking then. That caught me off-guard, but I ended up making the best of it.

I had to re-load the game since I hadn't been prepared for the attack, but now that I knew what to expect, I laid a trap of my own. I had Yoshimo fill the hallway where the party appeared with as many traps as he could set. This was VERY effective, because it took out half the party (including their mage) before the fight even started. Aerie used the Staff of Air to summon an Air Elemental and Jaheira summoned a Fire Elemental. I advanced these two creatures to occupy the survivors and finished them off with missile weapons.

The various guardians were pretty easy to kill, so you might want to consider re-loading to before the first encounter with her (if possible). I didn't want to get ambushed later in the game, so I decided to fight on a battlefield of my own choosing under conditions that I controlled.

The battle against Samia and her gang is one of those that is tough if you get caught unaware (i.e. as it is scripted). However, if you know that it's coming, the battle is not all that tough. Using a summoned elemental or 2 is a good tactic. Also useful is an druidic Insect Plague and/or a wizard Chaos spell (or both). Fire off both and Samia's gang is toast.

yep. if you dont wanna bother fighting the dragon (fierkraag or whatever his name was) he lets you go.. so just kill the mage, get the key and leave.. though he does give you a nice 64k xp

I personally found the fight hard. I was on lvl 10 - maybe thats why. I summoned an efreeti and used Valygar to backsta the mage. The efreeti went after taking a few goons but my party did take some dmg. I silenced ALL of them and 4 of my party members too (hehe) and the spellcasters weren't even jack. It was the thieves i had to worry about, but dispel invisibility worked fine anyway. In the end Samia and her goons died of their foolishness and weakness..
