Final Fight [Obviously a spoiler]

Anyone have any strategies for beating melyssan? I beat her in the first round, then did the battle against the air prince. I got my spells back with wish, and then went to face her for the second time. I try spell protections and summoning, but she gets me anyways, because all her minions somehow manage to overpower mine, and then start damaging my team. Spells seem to have little effect, even though i remove her protections, and even my fighters high level abilities seem to do very little. Help? Anyone?

That's one heck of a fight, I got caned fighting her many times. I can't offer much i'm afraid apart from don't waste time stop and also the Wish spell comes in handy just before the final final clash with Melyssan to restore spells and health instantly. Good luck!

your party? lvl?
It's been too long since I did the original final battle, but I think if you need to use wish after the first Melissan encounter, your party is probably at too low a lvl to face the final battle.

If you have a balance party, the strategy however, is quite straightfoward: place summons in the places where Melissan's minions will be, and focus all your firepower on Melissan (the usual removing spell/combat protection will work). If your fighters are at high enough lvl, couple of GWWs later Melissan should fall.

If you're like me, you solo'd a Mage and couldn't get through the ending so you went the cheezy way and imported 5 level 40 fighters [img]graemlins/petard.gif[/img]

A Mage is the best class to take on the final battle alone, in my opinion.

Beat the game. I dids. Killeds Melyssan. Useds simulacrums, summonsed beasts. They ripsed through her minions, yes. Now ons to Icewinds Dale

It's nearly impossible to kill her if you're just a pure fighter. You really need some sort of dispelling (carsomyr, but only for paladins). Thieves can use UAI to use spells or weapons to get rid of her protections, but a solo fighter is gonna need to rest a couple times during the battle a couple times.

Well, i used the good old Mordie's (spell sequencer) and a few Skeleton warriors... and don't forget the golem manual. IMHO the clay golem is better than the Juggernaut, because it only takes damage from blunt weapons.
So, summon - buffing spells - tear down Melyssan's protections and hack away. Though you'll need 3 tanks IMHO. Well, that's me: party of 6 NPC's, 3 fighter-types, cleric, mage, thief and you should knee deep in your enemies' corpses.
What I really hate, are those jerks guarding the "power nodes"...
