After killing Spiders in Beregost on her own(human fighter with ankheg armour),my character was awarded a special ability to "heal light wounds",so i used this spell and then sadly it was gone,-is this normal?
Also, when i returned the spider body/boots/wine to Landrin (not having spoke to Landrin before),Landrin gave me SIX bottles of antidote! -This never happened before!?
Also, whats the best way to kill Ankhegs?
Thx,

The "cure light wounds" special ability can be only used once per day. I have yet to work out whether it is literally once every (game) 24hrs or if you get it back when you rest, like other spells. The same will probably apply to Branwen's spiritual hammer ability, which is bloody good against skelingtons.

You'll get your special abilities back when you rest; in my experience, I haven't recovered special abilities simply because 24hr has elapsed.

Purplesage: You got the 6 bottles of antidote because of the interacting character's high charisma. Sometimes, you'll get bonus items when you initiate dialogue with a character with a high charisma (I'm not sure whether this character has to be 1 in the party order, though). Imoen equiped with Algernon's Cloak will do in such cases.

I've killed ove 300 anhkegs, and i recommend just having a strong well equipped pary (level 5+). Generally if you have a party at this level, and you attack sensibly, splittng your resources across multiple anhkegs where required, you'll have little problem killing them. armour is a key. wy is armour he key? cos acid hurts hehehe... once you ge your AC up enough you'll rarely get hit.

The AC is crucial in a lot of other situations, eg, when you go and kill Greywolf, make bloody sure you send a cha (I sent Minsc) that has both loads and loads of HP and a decent AC. Then be ungrateful and give GW's sword to your hero if s/he can use it.

Also make sure this happens against fire-arrow wielding kobolds. Minsc again is good; I have kitted him out in chain-mail+2 swiped off bandits in the lower half of the Gullykin map, and a composite long-bow.

Oh, and I am a f/m but because I don't have the power to cast many decent spells I wear chainmail and just act as a regular fighter. My HP total is too crap to waste.

I actually like Minsc with gauntlets of Dexterity, Ankheg plate mail (form the stach in Nashkel) and large shield +1 swiped from Nashkel store. My main char ( human fighter) wears full plate, ring of protection+1 and the shield, of course.

About fighting Greywolf. A single entagle spell from Jaheira is almost always enough to take him out with ranged weapons.

To kill ankhegs, I prefer summoning Skeletons and sending them ahead, then follow with my party with ranged weapons and main fighter mellee. Those heads are heavy, arn't they?

anakegs are easy with animate dead, priest get it at a low level so you can cast a lot at high levels. also magic missile and ranged fighters work wonders for me.
