Possible spoiler?

My 3 member party is at the beginning of the Fields of Slaughter; running a bit low on spells, HPs, etc. Just kicked the crap out of the welcome party and a bunch of undead, but then got hammered (twice) by a lich and his gang. I am on Day 56, so I'm wondering if that indicates too much time resting (I generally hate to rest) or if a change in strategedety is call for.

Party is Three Defenders of Neeber (they could all level up 1 level...I'm squatting for points)
Aasimar ............ Paladin10/Painbearer6
Human ............. Fighter4/Battleguard13
Deep Gnome .... Rogue2/Illusionist13

I guess I'm wondering if I should just push it OR level up everyone, rest and then have at em. I'm pretty sure my party could win, but 2 reloads indicates I'm doing something wrong.

*Note* My Paladin wields the Mace of Disruption and my Battleguard has the Lathander thingie.

Thanks.

Thanks.

just like other rpgs. it doesn't matter how many times you rest. The final boss will always patiently wait for you in his lair.

I meant from a role-playing perspective. As stated, I try to avoid resting.

The great thing about Fallout1 was the time limit....really makes you work.

BTW just beat the lich and his bony minions. Yay OSR and Acid Cloud (amazing stuff lurks in scroll bags!)

Well... personally I only rest if I can find a roleplaying reason to do so. It make no sense to rest in the middle of an ennemy's base. And when I do rest, I don't reload if I get attacked.

I tend to play the same as Luvian. I rest very infrequently, & even then at an inn unless I have to find somewhere else due the story or my party being on its last legs. If you truly want to role-play it, picture yourself in the territory you're in & ask yourself if you'd be willing to go to sleep.

I may not be the best strategist, so I usually find my party has about 3 hit pints between em at the end of any big batlle... SO... by the shaengarne bridge in my first time through, i had been playing for about 3 yrs. So don't feel bad. Wars are SUPPOSED to take years... otherwise they are tavern brawls

I recomend sleeping every 24 hours... For role playing reasons.
Sleep anywhere you can and as often as possible, and when I get attacked I reload. Sleep is free and is part of the game and if they dont want you to sleep so much they would put restrictions on it. The good people at Black Isle WANT you to sleep.

I've slept in enemy territory many times (in real rpg, not computer). Rest is a basic human (demi-human, etc.) need. Of course, one also posts guards to avoid problems with the unfriendly natives

I personally find it useful to sleep at the end of every 16 hour period of consciousness.
