***horrible example of roleplaying**** Yo' is there a Cloudbringer in da house. This is her Fairy Godfather. She sent in a request to be turned into an Oscar Meyer Hot Dog (dumbest wish I ever heard). I'm packin' my wand; let's do this thing.

Good morning everyone. Another cloudy and snowy day here in Toronto. At least we´re getting some sunshine tomorrow with temperatures around 12 degrees. Could you please relocate those clouds of yours Cloudy? Perhaps some miles south? Mmm staying in bed with laptop/good book listening to radio Ironworks. The hubby is driving Jackie to school today which means I can soft all morning.
Johnny, I see you managed to squirm your way out of our mop discussion. Edit: Time to check the Book/movies forum out on orders from Z. [ 01-20-2003, 07:15 AM: Message edited by: WillowIX ]

Afternoon, all. *Chuckle* Willow, Piestrider doesn't care for Victor Hugo. Nor am I that fond of him. The only Frenchman of that generation that I can tolerate is Alexandre Dumas pere.

Attalus, I also can't stand Victor Hugo. I had to read him for three terms when I was 16 oh, and the gun nearly never left my temple when I was reading Les Misérable Willow, literature at it's best? You have read The Hungry Hungry Catipillar haven't you? Haven't you?! [ 01-20-2003, 02:06 PM: Message edited by: Horatio ]

Horatio and Attalus, it is no surprise that you are not that fond of Victor Hugo´s Les Misérable. I however find it to be a very good book with beautiful language. You could always try and read it in French. If you don´t like Les Misérable I can recommend Hernani, Angelo, and The legend of Centuries. The last one includes no romance, so maybe that is something for the two of you.
I am also a fan of Alexandre Dumas, although IMO he´s not as good as Hugo. I´m not that fond of his "adventure novels" , but Les Louves de Machecoul, La Vendée et Madame, and Téresa are excellent dramas. Edit: Horatio, isn´t that particular book called The Very Hungry Catipillar? [ 01-20-2003, 02:24 PM: Message edited by: WillowIX ]

Actually, Willow, I am very fond of romance. And Romance. And Romanticism. I just don't care for gloomy left-wing Frenchmen, and nobody could call Dumas gloomy! I think that The Count of Monte Cristo is one of the most Romantic novels of all times. Byron would have loved it, and Poe! Dark, mysterious outsiders, revenge, slave girls. What's not to like?
