Well, to each his own i guess, but when i wake up with a sore head after a night of heavy drinking, i take one or two bottles of beer and i'm fine again. Food is one thing i stay away as far as possible from, just one or two beers.

Before you go to bed drink a glass of water, pop a couple of asprin, and eat a piece of bread. When you wake up drink a beer. You'll be fine.

Drink a fair amount of water before going to bed. When you wake, drink gatorade or mild(non-acidic)fruit juice and have some easily digestable food like oatmeal. Take a dose of ibuprofin and a dose of tylenol. You can take those two together. Add a multivitamin and a dose of either no-doz or ephedrine. Unless you REALLY tied one on, you should be right as rain within the hour. If your stomach gets bad, you may need some immodium and/or zantac. Of course, the best prevention is pacing yourself and not getting sloshed to begin with.
. . . . . . Disclaimer: Take no drugs if you are alchoholic and/or have liver problems! Tylenol, in particular, can push a stressed liver to the limit and make you quite ill! Do not take no-doz or ephedrine if you have high blood pressure or heart problems!

Massive amounts of water before going to sleep provents me from getting Hangovers, but snice you seem to be past that point
A Plain cheeseburger (Meat,Cheese, & bun only), side order of hasbrowns, with pork gravy (perferably with lumps& chunks of pork in it)poured allover the cheeseburger and hashbrowns. If you don't puke from the sight of it, you'll be ok to eat it. I Gar-ron-tee it'll take care of your hangover one way or the other

A big greasy fry-up, lots of water and an ice-cold bath. That last one really does shock the hangover right out of you.

I have to agree with everyone re the water. The more water you drink before you go to sleep after drinking the better, as the headache you get is from dehydration. Plus of course never drink alcohol on an empty stomach, eating something before bed helps a LOT. In the hangover morning, again, eating is good, especially something with bread, and drink more fluids (preferably with caffeine). Also hard as it is to do, moving around and not sitting around like a zombie helps get the alcohol moving out of your system faster (hey, hangovers is a waiting game). I wouldn't suggest aspirin before bed because it slows the digestive system and the alcohol sticks around longer. If you can't do any of the above LOL, just sleep it off!

There really is no biological cure for a hangover.
Its best to avoid water after waking up with one as it only alleviates the problem even if you have food with it. Best thing to do is take some of the advice given here about how you treat yourself before falling asleep and if you wake up hungover anyway, in all biological truth, the hair of the dog that bit ya is the best route to take if you are unable to just sleep it off. |
