Interesting question and one I have to answer everywhere.
To paraphrase the old song. I be a rolling stone, where ever I lay my hat is my home.

You were in Amsterdam right ? Did you like it ?
You bet!

Excellent point, actually. It ultimately all comes down to your state of mind, not where you live. When the state of mind is right, absolutely anywhere can be heaven. As the New Testament says, "The Kingdom of Heaven is within." Don't look for it outside.

On the edge of a crystal clear, glacier fed lake deep in the mountains. Far away from any signs of civillization. I want a place that one would need a float plane to get to, no roads, no horns, no traffic jams, no people. Snowcapped mountains for a backdrop, endless hardwood and evergreen forest for a yard. This is my Utopia.

And no computers, no books, no shops, no electrical appliances of any kind... Are you sure you'd like to live without these?

Well I would definetly have to have my books, I'm an avid reader. With new solar panel technology, and old windmill, and other technologies you could still have electricity, just no bills. Another bonus of my personal Utopia.

Books? Solar panels? Hey, I thought you said 'Far away from any signs of civillization'?

Books and technology have nothing to do with civilization, other then the fact that is where they are created. One does not need to deal with civilization to enjoy them.
Civilization- expressways, buildings, cities, people, traffic, crime, pollution, etc..

Actually yes they do. Books are an expression from civilisation. Technology is a child of civilisation. They are specific and relevent to the civilisation they are created out of.

Civilisation of course means:

Quote:
civ·i·li·za·tion
Pronunciation: "si-v&-l&-'zA-sh&n
Function: noun
Date: 1772
1 a : a relatively high level of cultural and technological development; specifically : the stage of cultural development at which writing and the keeping of written records is attained b : the culture characteristic of a particular time or place
2 : the process of becoming civilized
3 a : refinement of thought, manners, or taste b : a situation of urban comfort
