DC has definitely gone around the bend this time. Freedom Fries and Freedom Toast? Neither are French!!! Besides - that is petty and beneath the Congressmen's time. I cannot believe they would stoop that low. Idiots.

Furthermore, the guy who proposed the change is in charge of the House cafeteria committee. It's one of his jobs to approve the menu there... names and all. And yes they even have to vote on their menu, so it isn't any more of a waste of time than when they voted last week to serve cheeseburgers.

On the other hand, I'm only willing to go so far with the protest. I will never accept a substitute for a French kiss. Never, never, never!

People aren't mixing anything up with this protest. It's a symbolic protest about the French government's position, it's not about the French people.

Ricard, do you feel that those who burn flags in protest are mixing things up?

Well even with that said, the downside is that those who hold similar views are also effected. There is really no way to protest that doesn't effect someone personally.

How many times are you going to have to say that Ronn?

I can understand the wine thing, but I think changing the name from French Fries to freedom fries is a bit ridculious.

Edit-But its nothing new really, during WWII they changed Sourkrout (sp?) to Liberty Cabage or something like that.

Agreed renaming foods is all pretty childish and a bit extreme.

I can understand ordinary people doing this but not politicians, especially the ones in Washington DC.

Question Mark

I am so dumbfounded by this idiocy that I can't think of anything to write. Thus, I will pour myself another cup of Freedom Roast coffee with some Freedom Vanilla non-dairy creamer. I think I'll have some Freedom Toast tomorrow morning, then a lunch with a salad topped with Freedom dressing. After that, maybe we'll let Belle go to the salon to change her hairstyle to indclude a Freedom Braid. Finally, we'll go to the Kimball to see some Freedom Impressionist paintings.

Where will it end when it should never even have started?
