Has anyone with this problem tried a new sound card? Did it work? I have the same problem described in this thread with an HP6635 (Crystal Audio sound card). Also, when the game does run, it does so very slowly with the hard drive spinning non-stop. Combat is just painful. Could this also be attributed to the sound card issue? Appreciate any help!

I had to get a new soundcard.When I started the game,the hourglass would stay on instead of the arrow cursor.Had to call Interplay,and they told me to upgraded ATI driver for HP 4550Z.So far,it worked.
