the first cinematic(the intro which comes when you run the game) is ok but the cinematics that come before playing a chapter are f***ed up. After every 2 seconds, they just stop for a second(2 secs playing, 1 sec stop, 2 secs playing, 1 sec stop again) till its over. Could this be because my computer(Duron 700, TNT 2) sucks? or is it because of the game?

I have computer specs well above the recommended and I get this problem, too. However, on my notebook, the little intro movies play just fine. My notebook has equal or better specs as far as processor and RAM are concerned, but only has a 32MB video card whereas my desktop has a geforce3 ti200 64MB.
The only other difference is that my notebook is XP and my desktop is ME. It may be a seek time issue with the hard drive? Oh, who knows... Anyway, I get the problem, too. Kat
