and the answer is(drums banging): a sick, sick story!
anyway, recently, my sisters friend told me what the original Alice in Wonderland was about.. IT IS LIKE AMERICAN MCGEES ALICE!! all who have played that fun, sick, psychopathic game will understand whats so big about that. *ehem* the original book was made by Lewis Carrol, a drug addict. the original book itself was alot diffirent than "oh fun! lets follow the nice rabbit!" and all that sortsa "prancing through the flower fields" stuff. Alice was a mad child that decapitated the enemies and the book is supposed to be very wierd and cruel.. damn, i wish i had that book! |

This would take me waaaaaaaay too much time to answer in any concrete fashion, so let me just say POPPYCOCK! And toss the idea in the where it will be at home.
Lewis Carroll, wrote for his niece. He was not on some LSD inspired drug dreaming trip that accidentally won him the acclaim of the literary world or families around the world on a regular basis for decades.... sheesh! CloudyInWonderland, checking out the Looking Glass

The correct title of the book is 'Alices Adventures in Wonderland'. Written by Lewis Carroll, who lived in my hometown. Sorry Cloudy, but he WAS a serious drug user.
Excellent book.

USS sometimes I wonder about your relatives Yes he was a drug user and yes it has be speculated that his drug use had an effect on how he wrote Alice. ex the pill that make her oh so small. However, as stated above it was written for his nice as a childs story and not some dark tail as you have been infomed.

Some Carroll poetry for you: 'Twas brillig and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe: All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe. "Beware the Jabberwock, my son! The jaws that bite, the claws that catch! Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun The frumious Bandersnatch!" He took his vorpal sword in hand: Long time the manxnome foe he sought -- So rested he by the Tumtum tree, And stood awhile in thought. And, as in uffish thought he stood, The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame, Came whiffling through the tulgey wood, And burbled as it came! One, two! One, two! And through and through The vorpal blade went snicker-snack! He left it dead, and with its head He went galumphing back. "And hast thou slain the Jabberwock? Come to my arms, my beamish boy! O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!" He chortled in his joy. 'Twas brillig and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe: All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe. On a related note, has anyone seen the brilliant film 'Alice' by Jan Svankmajer? I think Carroll would have approved, it is delightfully surreal.
