can anyone help me? in the final battle with the Brother Poquelin what can I do to up my chances of survival? I managed to kill the golems but then against the demon I seemingly could do nothing...do you need all +4 weapons or better? My protection spells get dispelled and my guys die horrible deaths...I get the idea I could be redoing this battle a million times...I don't want an easy battle, just one I have a handle on. thanks in advance......

You need +3 weapons or better. Use Haste and power-enhancing magic to deal as much damage as possible (like draw upon holy might, chant, luck etc.). Watch for the traps to the center of the room too!

Its tough but it can be done, what I did was stay along the edges of the room. Watchout because he's a ginsu food processor and will slice you to bits if he gets close. Load up on haste spells like Petrarcus said, stay out of the center of the room like he suggested.
Start drinking down the potions of giant strength, heroism, and anything else that gives you a boost for physical damage. Cast all the spells that do the same, draw on holy might etc... Once he starts after a party member have that that one run away while the others keep on him. Try to get around on his back as much as you can. Invisability works well for any mages. Try to ignore the Golems except to have a theif or someone run around them and keep them busy so they cant help Belhifet. He likes the flame strike spell too so have fire resistance potions handy. Dont drink any before going into the chamber he casts dispell magic on you first thing. Keep everyone moving and keep pounding him with all you have. It took me 8 tries the first time through. Hasnt got any easier, the last time I went with 3 Pc's the last one standing was the Mage who had 8 hit points left when he fell. Dont bother with fire based attacks they dont have any effect at all. ice and cold spells only have a 50% chance. best bet is to use all the defensive spells you can. Or use them on the golems. ANy summoning spells are good more fodder for him to keep busy on, raise dead spells are a good sorce of distractions. Good luck with him. |

thanks to those of you who replied to my cry for help...I haven't been able to implement your ideas but they have definitely given me a course of action...I am particularly interested in the info about keeping to the edges and going with mostly defensive spells...ditch the fireball and melf's acid arrow in other words...only thing is I found it hard to cast ANY magic at all in there...must try again.
once more unto the breach...... |
