I am wondering if such a course exists, and if perhaps there is a remedial course bg2 099? I struggle so much at this game and long to improve but the learning curve seems too steep. Can anyone point me to a place where I might get some knowledge. I feel that much of the help here is geared to players that have much more experience that many of us beginners. I try to go through dundee's (and others) advise but its like an advanced graduate course and I am just a first quarter freshman. Thanks in advance.

Volothamp's Comeuppance This is SixOfSpade's excellent guide to BG. It contains terminology, advice etc. This is NOT a walkthrough.

well what aspect of the game did you want to get some guidance in? Any specific questions you can PM me or post them here and I will do my best to answer them as simply as possible.

Yay! Somebody else tooted my horn! My very first one. Thanks, Lord Lothar.
The primary strength of Volothamp's Comeuppance is that it contains NO SPOILERS WHATSOEVER, so you can learn all about what the various Thief skills are for, what it really means to have 3 stars in a weapon, and whether it's better to Dual from Fighter to Thief or from Thief to Fighter. It will NOT tell you how to beat difficult enemies, solve tough puzzles, or locate really cool items; That sort of knowledge is for YOU to discover, not for me to spoon-feed it to you. Read the whole damn site (more work than it sounds), and you'll know EVERYthing about the BG series that you'll need to know, but hopefully not a single whit more than that. (It does, however, tell you how to cheat. Many players experience bugs in their game, and sometimes cheating is the only way to get things back on track.) If you want walkthroughs, item lists, or tips on how to get past [whatever], then this very site is probably THE best place to go.

No problem SixOfSpades. That is an EXCELLENT guide to BG though. It's perfect for the newbie to BG and D&D.
