Well that's a pretty acidic colour, but at least I can read it now
Nothing wrong with gonna, wanna, seeya, gotta etc - after all, people talk like that - I see nothing wrong with emulating a chatty style in an informal setting - it's not like this is a solicitor's letter after all And I don't care where you put your apostrophes or spelling either - if I can understand what you mean, then you've succeeded in getting your point across. Now if you were drafting legislation, it would be a different matter, but you're not - no need for anyone to get too pedantic about it

I used to use it all the time, but rarely do anymore as my typing has improved dramatically since then. Although I never did use it to the extent of i c u.
The only time I realy ever use it now is to make some passwords harder to guess... although I do sometimes still use bi instead of bye as force of habit... |

I remember way, way back.... in the olden days when the pyramids were first built.... hee hee..... when AOL was new and I was chatting and using the abbreviations for phrases... they didn't have slang back then.
Anywho... I have discovered it is a youth thing. Us older folks are used to being in the system and writing correctly. More of a generation gap thing than anything else. Once in a while I will listen to the music that the kids are listening to to see if I am missing anything. I guess it is not a bad thing in and of itself. Everything in moderation. And the scariest part is dating yourself when you get older and living in a time warp... that is why I try to keep up with the new trends...nothing worse than not understanding the culture you live in. My rant for the evening... thank you for your patience. LOL
