System: Abit KA7-100, Classic K7 600 @ 750, 384mb pc133, SB Live value, Leadtek GeForce 2 GTS, Win98 SE (new install), DX7.0a etc etc. Via 4in1 433v in standard mode not turbo. HX08 full tower 300w.
Installed full install of BG2 and patched with 23037 (english). Crashes to desktop at first movie (when trapped in cage) or crashes to black screen with line at top. Managed to play a bit further and then crashed to desktop again. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Graeme off to work now, will check bulletins when get home. |

You might try uninstalling and reinstalling.
Otherwise, the only thing I could suggest is checking out Bioware's website and see if there is any known issue with any of your hardware. ------------------ Most Subtle Official Straightman of the Laughing Hyenas -- Grammarian Brigade. Also make sure your video drivers and directx are at their most current versions.

Hmm, strange, well, as the others already said, OR reinstall it OR check the options with your graphical cards. (I got a Geforce II MX and I installed directX 8)

Turned off 4x AGP, Fast Writes and 4 way interleave in BIOS. Was playing fine for a while and then started getting Assertion Failed in CHDATA Types.cpp Line 250 probs.
Cleared Cache, Temp and Tempsave dirs, but keeps doing it. Have updated to DX8.0 and am currently downloading newest Leadtek drivers. Will try these, if don't work will reinstall game. Thanks for help so far. cheers Graeme |
