I agree with drew_jarvie, I mean, the Tuigan bow should see you through most of the game with its shooting abilities. There are also numerous others to be had. I've got Minsc currently on an elven strong bow of some vague description which is doing fine.
Having said that, I also have the first part of the bow and look forward to seeing it assembled.

Oh, also, there is a nice bow in a ceratin keep guarded by some certain guardians (funnily enough hehe).
